This program is for players who have learned or are able to skate and are now ready for hockey game play. As players advance they often move into the Greater Lowell Development Team (formerly known as "In House") which includes weekly practices and occasional "games" at local rinks. Practices focus on skating and hockey skills improvement. The games are opportunities to experience team play in a fun setting with no official score keeping.
Appropriate for players ages 5 to 12 who have completed at least one year of Learn to Play.
Season begins in October and will go through March.
Practices are held at the Janas Rink in Lowell, with games/scrimmages both at the Janas Rink and other local towns.
Team practices at least once a week, typically on Saturday mornings at 10:00am.
The development team plays games that are setup by coaches with other local teams. Coaches try to play at least one game a week on the weekends.
A jersey will be provided by the league for use in both practices and games, along with a pair of socks.
